Sitting With Jane was a public art trail of 24 BookBenches, commemorating the 200th anniversary (2017) of Jane Austen's death. Lois's BookBench design is inspired by Jane Austen's words: “To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment.” (Mansfield Park) Lois set herself the challenge of imitating Austen's handwriting and signature, preparing her own papercut stencils for the task.
